So many shoes but only two feet!!

With the opening of her second Hunter Store @ 23 Hampden Road Nedlands, life has come full circle for women’s designer shoe retailer, Alice Burke.

Alice grew up in Shenton Park even though Nedlands was her old stomping ground. Hollywood High wasn’t quite the same after Alice left but legendary shoe retailer Zomp gained the lively and ambitious Alice at the tender age of seventeen.

For the next decade Alice worked 6 days a week at Zomp. Being hired to work in the office helping with all facets of stock management wasn’t enough for Alice. The company was short of staff so Alice volunteered to work in the stores and was made manager of Zomp 2 at eighteen years of age.

In 1999 Alice travelled to Melbourne to open Zomp’s Little Collins Street store. In eighteen months, 5 girls were working during the day and 7 on a Saturday!! For the next 4 years, Alice called Melbourne home and loved every minute of it.

In 2004 Alice moved back to Perth and became Zomp’s State Sales Manager for the Claremont and Kings Street outlets. Both stores were revitalised under Alice’s management.

Alice wholesaled women’s designer clothing labels prior to being employed by Hunter Store as their buyer/manager from 2010 – 2012. An opportunity arose in 2012 for Alice to purchase the business and the rest is history!!

Today Hunter Store boasts a contemporary collection of beautiful shoes, bags, jewellery and clothing.

Imported boots and shoes by Ivylee Copenhagen, Isabelle Paris, Beau Coops and Sempre Di are stocked by Hunter Store.
