Concept M By Debbie Snooke

It is very refreshing to visit a new women’s clothing retail store that is bright, minimalistic and owned by a vivacious, happening, 20 something, young woman.
Concept M in Hislop Street, Alfred Cove is a destination outlet in a small shopping strip with plenty of parking. Madeleine Ashton set up her shop 8 weeks ago after studying Sports Science, spending over six years in retail and wholesale and living in Budapest for nearly a year.

Maddie knew her destiny was to have her own shop with labels she loved to wear, at a price point she would pay.

Concept M doesn’t disappoint. The stunning white mirror, concrete floors, a minimal approach to stock levels and the clever manner in which it’s displayed, is certainly enticing. So too are the wardrobe essentials on the racks!

Maddie is a big advocator of keeping it simple. Owning casual lifestyle pieces made from natural fibers that can be easily layered is clearly Concept M’s mantra. The “less is more” philosophy of dressing is evident in bias cut silk dresses by Silk Laundry, handmade knits from Argentina by First Born and clever t-shirting by Rag Doll from LA.

The incredible jeans by Agolde from LA, are the sister label of Citizens of Humanity are available in a vintage high rise and skinny crop legs. I have to say, the skinny crop-leg jeans are the best I have ever worn. There is also a great selection of jeans by Mother, denim perfect for Mum’s body.
