The Detox Coffee Scrub By Lisa Corser

Most people love the aroma and taste of a wonderfully brewed coffee and now many women are bringing coffee into their beauty routine.

The coffee scrub has become incredibly popular recently but why all the hype?

I road tested some organic coffee scrubs and also made my own home scrub and have to say I am hooked. It feels invigorating, smells divine and leaves your skin feeling silky smooth after your shower.

Coffee is a stimulant that dilates blood vessels and temporarily tightens and tones the skin. Coffee can also reduce water retention and increases circulation. It is a wonderful exfoliant and a good anti-inflammatory, which can help diminish the appearance of cellulite.

To make you own Coffee Scrub at home use good quality organic ground coffee, add some coconut oil and a pinch of salt. Mix to your desired consistency and keep in an air tight jar in the shower. I use my scrub approximately three times per week. It can be a pain to clean the shower space after an application but its worth the mess!

A few online scrubs I can personally recommend are:

Simple as That – Mocha Body Scrub

This baby combines ground coffee, coconut oil, cacao, himalyan pink salt and hemp seed oil.

Romeo and Madden –

I have written a blog on this company before but here’s another shout out for this Company. I just love, love this product.

All ingredients are natural and of the highest quality.

They have two incredible scrubs:

My personal favourite is the Manuka Honey Scrub, which has incredible healing and antiseptic properties and might be an option if you don’t like the smell or can’t tolerate coffee. This face and body scrub is also good for people who suffer from some skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis.

As all these products contain oils, please be sure to clean your shower recess thoroughly as the surfaces may become slippery when wet.

Always test a product once to ensure you can tolerate the product and it suits your skin type.

Enjoy, Enjoy!
